Hang the Shower Curtain Outside the Tub
When the shower curtain is left to dry inside the tub, the water can become trapped between the curtain and the tub. The trapped moisture can lead to the formation of mold. Always hang the shower curtain on the outside of the tub, and leave it closed. Guests may change the position of the curtain or leave it open, but housekeeping staff can correct this when tending to the room. If the curtain is left in the proper position the majority of the time, it will reduce the risk of mold.
Buy Smooth Curtains
Shower curtains that have a smooth surface are less prone to mold. Any ridges in the curtain surface can trap moisture and allow bacteria to accumulate. Ridges can also make the shower curtain harder to clean. Simply buying a smooth shower curtain can make all the difference to keeping it clean and free of mold.
